JKSSB NT COURT CASE UPDATE: Govt Yet to File Reply, Advertisement Remains Suspended

The JKSSB Naib Tehsildar court case has taken a new turn, with the government still failing to file a reply despite multiple opportunities. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jammu Bench had directed the government to submit their response, but so far, there's been no update.

The case revolves around the JKSSB Naib Tehsildar Recruitment Notification 2025, which mandates Urdu proficiency as an essential qualification. Several aspirants have objected, arguing that this condition is discriminatory against those fluent in other official languages of Jammu & Kashmir.

The tribunal has also decided to add the Revenue Department as a party, while the General Administration Department was wrongly made a party and should be replaced with the Revenue Secretary.

The CAT had earlier stayed the enforcement of the mandatory Urdu language requirement, allowing candidates with knowledge of other official languages to apply. The JKSSB has deferred the recruitment process following the tribunal's order ¹.
