UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION ALL IN ONE SHOT.

 Union public service Commission..... (UPSC). 


Article 315 of the Constitution of india deals with public service Commission for union and for the state.. 

The central public service commission was established for the recruitment of civil service on the recommendation of lee commission in 1926.

Federal public service commission was established under the Government of India Act 1935 under this act for the first time provisions of public service commission for two or more province were made. 

Federal public service commission was later renamed as union public service commission and given a Constitutional status in the form of an autonomous body under Article 315 on 26 January 1950..

Elaborate provinces regarding the composition appointment and removal of members along with the independence, power and functions of union public service commission. And the state public service commission are dealt in Article 315 to 323 in part XiV of the Constitution. It is an autonomous constitutional body... 


              COMPOSITION OF UPSC

  1.  It is composed of a chairman and others members appointed by the president of India.                          
  2. The construction has not prescribed qualifications for the membership of the commission except that one half of its members should be such persons who have held office for at least ten years either under the Government of India or any state Government (Article 316).                 
  3. However over all strength of the commission is left to the discretion of the president.              
  4. The chairman and members of the commission shall hold office for a term of 6 years or 65 years of age.                                                      
  5. Whichever is earlier in the case of state public service commission Or joint public service commission.                           
  6. A person who hold office as a member of the commission on expiration of the term of office is ineligible for re appointment of that office.                                               
  7. They can resign from the office any time by addressing their resignation to the president..
