CLIMATE OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR IMPORTANT FOR JKSSB.



Climate and crops of jammu and Kashmir... Important for all competitive exams. 

‼️ climate has been defined as the average weather condition at a specific place over a lengthy period of time.. I, e more than 30 years while the conditions of the atmosphere at any place at a specific time Or for a short time is known as weather.. 

@.. Jammu and Kashmir is situated in the sub tropical region and it's climate of jammu and Kashmir resembles to greater extend is influenced by its mountainous nature.. 

.. Due to different orographic features and snow clad peaks the climate of jammu and Kashmir resembles to a greater extend with temperate latitude... 

. However the two regions of jammu and Kashmir viz, jammu division and Kashmir valley have different climatic conditions from each other.. 

Climate of jammu Division...... 

The climate condition Prevailing over jammu region vary from one part to another.. 

The climate of southern part of the division ie, southern plains and adjacent shivalik resembles the climate of Punjab with hot summers coupled with monsoon rains and cool winter. 

.. On the other hand, the climate of mountainous tracts and lee ward slopes resembles the climate of Kashmir valley.. 

. Seasonal winds ie, the monsoon barsat have their impact on the climate of jammu region.. 

On the basis of distribution of annual rainfall and temperate, a year in this region has been divided into three seasons.. 

SEASON OF THE JAMMU DIVISION. 

WINTER ( COLD WEATHER)   NOVEMBER TO FEBRUARY. 

SUMMER ( HOT WEATHER)    MARCH TO JUNE. 

RAINY SEASON        JUNE TO OCTOBER.

1 WINTER SEASON.. 

in this season the coldest month is january. 

Mist and fog are a common sight during this month.. 

From february, the temperature become ss pleasant giving start to spring season. 

During winter season, westerly winds also called   ' temperature cyclone ' cause rainfalls in jammu region. 

These winds originate from Mediterranean Sea.. 

2 Summer season

From the month march onwards there is abrupt rise in the temperature of jammu  which reaches upto its maximum in the month of may and june when it often rises to about 38°

. During this period hot dry winds called loo blow which add to the miseries of the people..

Some times dust storms blow which bring about light Drizzle of. 

3  RAINY SEASON.. 

from the middle of June monsoon bring to arrive in jammu. 

Monsoon rains bring down the temperature, but humidity remains quite high which makes the weather quite oppressive.. 

Average rainfall during this season is 65 CM. 

Climate is a long term average of a region weather events. The earth's climate is not static. Over the billions of years of earth existence. It has changed many times in response to natural causes like sun spot, ice Age glaciations etc, . 

" Climate change " Means a change of climate which is attributed directly on indirect on human activity  that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time period s. 

However when today people talk about climate change the mean the change in climate over the last 100 years which is caused predominantly by human activity. 

The phrase climate change represent s a change in the long term weather condition pattern. Climate change is not a change of weather in a particular day.. It is the cumulative change of long term weather pattern ie change in climate for example it's possible that a winter day in jammu could be sunny and mild. But the average weather, the climate tells us that jammu winter will mainly be cold and include snow and rain. The change in the pattern of jammu winters from the normal winters pattern represents an epitome of climate change............
