Signed in karachi ( Pakistan) on 19 September 1960.
Signed between prime minister ( pandit jawaharlal Nehru) and president of ( Pakistan Ayub khan).
This treaty gives control over Beas, ie Eastern rivers, Ravi and satluj ( 20% of total water carried by indus river system) to India and it gives control over western areas rivers, ie ( indus,chenab,jhelum, 80% of the total water carried by indus river) to Pakistan..
This agreement took 9 years of negotiations.
This treaty initiative was initiated by former s world Bank president Eugene black. .....
